  Studio room, TV didn't work, it was missing a cable. Toilet seat broken, every time you sat down it moved sideways. Very noisy air-conditioning unit. Beer garden right outside your glass door. Staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful.

  Decent room size, comfortable bed, modernist decore, but poorly maintained. Not vacuumed kitchen with dried on food particles on dishes, counter, fridge, microwave, etc, no WiFi from motel, reception told us to use city council site which was almost unusable slow due to poor signal even when using a WiFi range extender, good number of windows, but they do not open, no bar soap or even liquid soap for bathroom sink, they did provide boxed cereal and plenty of milk though, receptionist was friendly. Overall would not stay again. Too bad, would be great if they cleaned the place and ran a decent WiFi service.

  I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I feel that this is justified by the amount of money we paid to stay for 1 night.
  It's definitely not worth the amount of money for the quality.
  We stayed in Studio 1 and the smell was almost unbearable.
  It smelt damp and musty, and there are no windows, so you can't air out the room.
  The air freshener they have in the room to cover up this smell is doing more harm than good. The smell stayed in my clothes, even when we got home.
  The towels had stains on them.
  The pillows were like rocks and were very high, and hurt my neck - I couldn't actually sleep on it.
  The staff in the pub where you check in weren't very friendly.
  The great thing about the accommodation is that it's right in the middle of town, so easy to get to places and the air-con worked great.
  All in all, my experience wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either.
  I wouldn't recommend staying more than 1 night.

  Booked a studio online 2 days prior and the booking was confirmed and our payment proccesed and accepted. Was rung on the day of check-in 2 hours before we were due to arrive, that none were available. The manager 'blamed' the booking site for a double booking. Totally unacceptable as we use the same booking site for our business and notifications come through quickly on the day when bookings are made.

  We didn't realise the studios were located right next to the pub. It was a loud at night, and didn't feel 100% safe. The front door is glass, and not overly secure.
  The studio smelled damp and stale.
  Someone urinated on the front fence overnight.
  It was OK, but I wouldn't recommend and won't stay again.

  Nice unit in the heart of the city.
  
  Not sure why there have been bad reviews about this place, but we stayed in unit 6 (family room) and found it very comfortable. All amenities were provided and there was a large kitchen, big fridge, washer and dryer. Lots of cutlery as well. Space was a big plus. Only a few small cons, one wardrobe between the four of us, no fans but aircon was sufficient, tv remote didn't work (used tv buttons) and band played till late which we could hear that night, but to be expected on a Friday night. We just shut the windows. Overall, an excellent place to stay and within walking distance of blowhole and city shops. Note: Return keys to the door slot at the front of the grand hotel kiama when checking out. Hotel isn't open at check out time which is 10am.
